Right in the centre of Salisbury and sitting alongside the River Avon, the Bishops Mill is a landmark pub with a great location, strong reputation, and plenty of reasons for customers to visit.
This is a large, profit-making site – and we're looking for someone who can take it from successful to exceptional.

Job Description

The Bishops Mill is already a well-established and successful business, but there is still plenty of room to grow.
As General Manager, you'll have the freedom to look at the bigger picture and ask:

You'll take ownership of the operation, leading a large team and driving the commercial performance of a flagship site.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Lead a high-volume, high-performing pub and take ownership of its continued success.
- Drive sales and profitability through a strong commercial focus.
- Identify opportunities to grow the business and maximise the site's full potential.
- Lead, coach, and develop a large team, creating a culture where people can thrive.
- Work with your Business Development Manager to build and deliver an ambitious business plan.
- Make the most of the pub's fantastic riverside location and position in the heart of Salisbury.
- Continue developing the food, drink, sport, and entertainment offer.
- Maintain the high standards expected of a flagship Greene King site.
- Challenge yourself and the team to continually improve what we do.
Qualifications
👊 What we're looking for
This is a role for someone who is comfortable running a big operation and excited by the opportunity to make an already successful business even better.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience as a General Manager running a large, high-volume, or high-turnover site.
- A strong commercial mindset and demonstrable experience of driving sales and profitability.
- The confidence to lead a large team and manage a complex operation.
- A track record of developing people and building high-performing teams.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- High standards and exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to spot opportunities and turn ideas into commercial results.
- Energy, ambition, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
- A Personal Licence, or the ability to obtain one.
