General Manager | Home Care | Business Growth & Operations
Are you an ambitious operational leader looking for the opportunity to shape the future of a growing business?
We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our established, “Outstanding”-rated home care company. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside the Directors to drive business growth, develop high-performing teams, and play a key role in opening our second branch.
This is more than a management role - it is an opportunity to influence the future direction of a successful and respected local business.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will take overall responsibility for the operational performance of the business, leading our management team and ensuring every part of the organisation operates efficiently, commercially and in line with our values.
You will directly line-manage our Registered Manager, Roster Supervisor and Operations Supervisor, providing leadership, support and holding them accountable for their teams’ performance.
You'll also help lead our next stage of growth, including planning for the launch of a second branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the business
- Develop and deliver business growth strategies
- Build client numbers while maintaining excellent service quality
- Lead recruitment and workforce planning
- Manage and develop the office leadership team
- Improve scheduling efficiency and operational performance
- Oversee HR processes, compliance and workforce development
- Drive the adoption of technology and AI to improve productivity
- Prepare for CQC inspections and ensure regulatory compliance
- Produce meaningful KPIs and management reports for the Directors
- Lead planning for the successful opening of a second branch

About You
We're looking for someone who combines commercial thinking, outstanding leadership skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
You'll ideally have:
- A proven track record in a senior management role
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong commercial awareness with a proven ability to improve profitability
- Experience growing a business or expanding services
- Excellent organisational and operational management skills
- Outstanding communication and people leadership abilities
- Excellent Microsoft 365 skills and experience of business management systems
- A positive and curious attitude towards technology, automation and AI
- Sound judgement and strong attention to detail

Desirable
- Experience opening a new branch or service
- Degree or equivalent management qualification
- Experience within the home care or health and social care sector would be advantageous
What We Offer
- Salary of £60,000–£70,000
- Performance-related bonus
- Private healthcare
- Pension
- 28 days' holiday (including Bank Holidays)
- An additional day off for your birthday
- Monday-Friday working (37.5 hours)
