General Manager – Exciting Asian Grab & Go Brand
London | £40,000–£42,000 | 45 hours per week
We’re working with a really exciting Asian grab & go brand that has grown to three stores across high-footfall London locations, with plans to continue opening approximately one new site every year.
They’re now looking for an experienced General Manager to join the business and play an important role in the next stage of their growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, leading from the floor and having genuine autonomy within a growing business.
Mandarin or Cantonese speaking is essential for this position.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operation of one of their London locations while also building an understanding of the wider three-site estate.
No two stores operate exactly the same way. Some are heavily driven by busy lunchtime trade, others have significant evening delivery volume, while another combines takeaway with a stronger dine-in operation.
You’ll need to understand those different trading patterns and be comfortable supporting across locations when required.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Leading the restaurant operation from the floor
- Managing and developing the front-of-house team
- Creating and managing weekly rotas
- Ensuring staffing levels match trading requirements
- Delivering excellent customer service
- Working closely with kitchen and back-of-house teams
- Maintaining strong operational and food safety standards
- Taking ownership of day-to-day operational issues
- Managing contractors, suppliers, and site-related issues where required
- Supporting other locations across the group
- Identifying problems and resolving them before they become bigger issues

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What They're Looking For
The business is looking for somebody who is proactive, dependable, and solutions-focused. They don’t want a manager who simply passes problems upwards. They want someone who looks at an issue, works out what needs to happen, and takes ownership of getting it resolved.
You’ll ideally already be working as a:
- General Manager
- Restaurant Manager
- Senior Deputy Manager ready to step up
Experience within high-volume grab & go, QSR, fast casual, or casual dining would be particularly relevant.
You’ll also need to be:
- Fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese
- Hands-on and comfortable leading from the floor
- Calm during high-volume services
- Commercially aware
- Strong with people and team development
- Comfortable working with both FOH and BOH
- Highly organized
- Comfortable operating with autonomy
- Flexible enough to work across different London locations when required

There’s plenty of opportunity to take on more responsibility over time and develop alongside the company.
