We’re recruiting for an experienced General Manager to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day performance of a busy operational site.
This is a broad leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, developing people and keeping performance on track. You’ll have responsibility across operations, people, compliance, customer service and commercial performance, working closely with senior leadership and functional teams.
The Role
- Lead the day-to-day operation, ensuring safety, service, productivity and performance targets are met.
- Lead and develop managers and operational teams, building a positive and accountable culture.
- Oversee warehouse, transport, customer service, administration, facilities and stock operations.
- Drive efficiency, cost control, productivity and continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong standards across health & safety, compliance and operational performance.
- Work closely with HR on recruitment, absence, performance and employee relations.
- Partner with commercial and finance teams to support customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Lead operational change and identify practical opportunities to improve processes and performance.
- Represent the site within the wider business and contribute to broader operational priorities.

What We’re Looking For
- Experience in General Management, Operations Management or Site Management.
- Background leading teams in a fast-paced environment such as logistics, wholesale, foodservice or a similar sector.
- Strong people leadership and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness, with experience managing costs and improving efficiency.
- A practical, confident and solutions-focused approach to decision-making.
- Good understanding of health & safety, compliance and operational standards.
- Experience managing performance, absence, conduct and organisational change.
