General Manager
LeisureSK – Stamford Leisure Pool Permanent | Full-Time

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences, developing high-performing teams, and driving commercial success?
LeisureSK is looking for an ambitious and motivated General Manager to lead the operation of our Stamford leisure facility. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a thriving community venue, shaping its future while making a real difference to the health and wellbeing of local residents.
About the Role
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operational, financial, and commercial performance of the leisure centre. Leading from the front, you will inspire and develop your team, ensure the highest standards of customer service and compliance, and drive sustainable business growth.
Working closely with senior management, you will develop and deliver business plans, maximise participation and membership growth, and build strong relationships with customers, community groups, schools, and local stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the leisure centre, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and customer-focused environment.
- Take full accountability for financial performance, including budgeting, income generation and cost control.
- Drive membership growth, customer retention, and commercial opportunities.
- Recruit, lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Ensure excellence in customer service and continuously improve the customer experience.
- Maintain the highest standards of health & safety, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
- Build strong partnerships within the local community to increase participation and engagement.
- Monitor site performance and implement initiatives that deliver continuous improvement.

About You
We are looking for someone who brings energy, commercial awareness, and strong leadership skills. You will have the confidence to motivate others, make sound decisions, and deliver results.
You will ideally have:
- At least three years' experience in a senior management role within leisure, hospitality, sport, health & fitness, or a similar customer-focused environment.
- Experience managing operational budgets and delivering commercial performance.
- A proven track record of leading and developing successful teams.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience of recruitment, performance management, and employee development.
- Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
- A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused approach.
- A relevant management qualification or equivalent experience.
- A full UK driving licence and access to transport.
- Experience managing wet and dry leisure facilities would be advantageous.

Working Hours
Hours will be agreed to meet the needs of the business and will include early mornings, evenings, and weekends on a rota basis.

Salary: 35500 - 35552 GBP Per annum
