General Manager | Luxury Events
Central London | £75,000 - £85,000 package + benefits
We are working with an established and highly successful luxury events business in Central London to appoint a General Manager as the business enters its next stage of growth.
The business delivers high-end private events, product launches, weddings, corporate events and exhibitions, working with a premium London clientele and some of the capital’s most prestigious venues and brands.
The business currently delivers around 110 events a year, ranging from intimate 80-person events and weddings through to large-scale events for 700+ guests. The operation also has its own catering team and is generating approximately £5m+ in annual revenue, with plans to expand across further sites.
The Role
This is a senior operational and commercial role, working directly alongside the Managing Director.
The successful candidate will become the MD’s right-hand, taking ownership of the day-to-day business while allowing the MD to focus on sales, business development and future growth.
You will:
- Take overall responsibility for the operational performance of the business
- Have full P&L and financial accountability
- Drive revenue growth and commercial strategy
- Lead cost control, labour and operational efficiency
- Manage and develop the wider team
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding and performance
- Maintain exceptional service and guest experience standards
- Lead event operations across the full calendar
- Manage suppliers and key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance, licensing and Health & Safety standards
- Identify opportunities to improve and develop the business
- Work closely with the MD on the future growth strategy

About You
We are looking for an experienced General Manager or senior operations leader with a strong background in luxury events.
Ideally, you will have:
- 10+ years' experience within the events or luxury hospitality sector
- Experience delivering high-volume, high-value events
- A background in 5-star luxury hospitality, premium events or hotel events
- Strong commercial and financial understanding
- Proven P&L and cost-control experience
- Excellent operational and organisational skills
- The confidence to lead a medium-sized team and hold people accountable
- A firm but fair management style
- The ability to analyse numbers and make commercially sound decisions
- A forward-thinking approach to business development and operational improvement
- The ambition to build a long-term career with a growing business

The Opportunity
This is not simply a role focused on running events.
The successful candidate will have genuine ownership of the operation and the opportunity to shape the next phase of the business.
The immediate focus will be on upgrading and developing the existing operation, increasing event volumes and building the infrastructure required to support expansion across additional sites.
A key part of the role will be taking operational responsibility away from the MD, allowing them to focus on other areas of the business.
Package
- £75,000 - 85,000 package (Depending on experience)
- 40-45 hours per week, with additional hours when required
- 5 days per week
- Standard holiday entitlement
- Permanent, full-time position
