General Manager – Dungeness B Power Station
Location: Dungeness B Power Station
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: Competitive salary plus excellent benefits package
At Dalkia UK, we're looking for an experienced and inspirational General Manager to lead our operations at Dungeness B Power Station, a complex and highly regulated decommissioning site.
This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for the overall performance, safety, compliance, and strategic direction of our contract. Working closely with EDF stakeholders and senior leaders, you'll ensure the delivery of a safe, efficient, and high-performing service while supporting the evolving requirements of a major nuclear decommissioning environment.
The Role
As General Manager, you will provide visible leadership across the site, creating a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration. You will be responsible for ensuring contractual obligations are delivered safely, effectively, and in alignment with both client expectations and Dalkia's business objectives.
Working within the decommissioning environment at Dungeness B, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of operational performance while supporting the site's changing needs throughout its decommissioning lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a robust site business plan, driving operational excellence, financial performance, and a strong safety culture.
- Lead, inspire, and develop multidisciplinary teams, setting clear objectives and ensuring high levels of engagement and performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with EDF, trade unions, regulators, and senior stakeholders across multiple organisations.
- Ensure the contract remains compliant, resilient, and sustainable, meeting all legal, regulatory, and procedural requirements associated with a highly regulated decommissioning environment.
- Provide strategic oversight of Facilities Management and project delivery activities across the site.
- Support the effective delivery of services within the changing operational requirements of a nuclear decommissioning site.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance.
- Promote a proactive culture focused on safety, operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the decommissioning programme.

About You
We're looking for a proven operational leader who thrives in complex, highly regulated environments and has a track record of delivering results through people.
Experience within the nuclear, energy, engineering, infrastructure, or other highly regulated sectors would be advantageous, particularly where candidates have experience operating within complex programmes of change, transition, or decommissioning.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant leadership experience managing large operational teams within a highly regulated industry.
- Demonstrable ability to lead organisational performance while fostering a positive and inclusive culture.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, financial performance, and contractual obligations.
- Comprehensive understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality management systems.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at executive level.
- Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Experience of working within a complex regulatory or compliance-driven environment.
- An understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with decommissioning or major asset lifecycle programmes would be highly desirable.
