General Manager - IES
Location: Bristol
Salary: c£85,000 - £90,000 per annum + Excellent benefits package - Profit-Related Bonus, Private Medical, Pension and Life Assurance
Our client, IES, is a global leader in high-technology equipment moves, installations, export packing, and compliance testing services. They support leading OEMs and manufacturers across the world. As part of its continued development and growth strategy, IES is seeking to appoint an exceptional new role of General Manager to provide operational and commercial leadership across the business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and main Board, the successful candidate will take full responsibility for business performance, leading day-to-day operations while driving sustainable growth, profitability, and organisational excellence.
This role requires an inspiring and commercially focused leader who can balance both strategic thinking with hands-on operational management. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee financial performance, support business development initiatives, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. Working closely with customers, suppliers, and senior stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future success of the organisation while ensuring the highest standards of service delivery, safety, and operational effectiveness.

For this role, we are keen to hear from candidates with:
- Significant experience in a General Manager, Operations Manager, or other senior leadership position
- A strong background within engineering, manufacturing, technical services, or related operational environments
- Proven experience managing budgets, P&L accountability, and business performance
- A track record of developing high-performing teams and creating positive workplace cultures
- Experienced in driving operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and organisational growth
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and support business development opportunities
- Exposure to negotiating contracts and working on key commercial agreements
- Understanding and ensuring key compliance with all relevant legislation, industry regulations, and company policies
- Experience leading change initiatives and supporting business transformation
- A commitment to health and safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence
