Job Overview

We're seeking a dynamic and commercially astute General Manager to lead our London shops. As the ultimately accountable leader, you'll oversee all aspects of operations, from people management and financial performance to product quality and customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for an ambitious individual with a passion for results, who thrives on building high-performing teams and ensuring our brand's reputation for excellence. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll assume full responsibility for the shop's "family tree," driving growth, efficiency, and a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Operations & Business Growth: Analyse financial reports, identify trends, and implement solutions to drive profitability, sales growth, and operational efficiency. Develop local marketing initiatives and promotions to boost brand visibility and customer footfall.
  • Comprehensive People Leadership: Own the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and retention. Lead and inspire the team (Assistant Manager, Team Leaders, and Shop Assistants) to foster engagement, happiness, and high performance. Develop and maintain the shop's succession plan, delivering on People KPIs like staff turnover and internal promotions.
  • Financial Management & Reporting: Manage P&L results, sales targets, labour costs, waste, cash control, and payroll. Conduct in-depth analysis to uncover opportunities for improvement and ensure financial policies are strictly followed.
  • Brand & Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest standards in product quality, presentation, food safety, allergen compliance, and shop aesthetics. Act as the guardian of the La Maritxu brand, ensuring every customer interaction reflects our "Goxoa!" values.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Build strategic supplier relationships, optimise inventory to minimise waste, and forecast demand to align with sales trends and promotions.
  • Crisis & Incident Leadership: Lead the team through challenges, from operational disruptions to emergencies. Develop protocols, train staff, and conduct post-incident reviews to enhance resilience.
  • Daily Oversight: Ensure seamless shop operations, including opening/closing procedures, stock management, and the maintenance of a clean, inviting environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
