Company Description

🍻 Ready to lead a Cambridge institution?

Some pubs have a story to tell. The Baron of Beef has been telling its story since 1752.

This Grade II listed pub is packed with character, history and personality – and we're looking for an ambitious General Manager to lead the team and take this much-loved Cambridge pub into its next chapter.

With its old-world charm, welcoming atmosphere and loyal local following, the Baron of Beef is anything but your average pub.

πŸ›οΈ Why the Baron of Beef?

Because this isn't just another pub.

Dating back to 1752, the Baron of Beef is steeped in Cambridge history. This Grade II listed pub has welcomed generations of locals and visitors, with famous names including Douglas Adams and Tom Baker having passed through its doors.

Today, it's a vibrant community pub combining historic character with everything you'd expect from a modern local.

We've got great pub food, live music, karaoke, live sport and a well-stocked bar, alongside a loyal customer base and plenty of opportunity to grow.

For the right General Manager, this is a chance to lead a pub with genuine personality and write the next chapter of its story.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
