What does a successful General Manager, Clover UK do?
At Fiserv, a successful General Manager, Clover UK leads, transforms, and scales one of our most strategically important growth businesses. This role combines the agility of a high-growth technology company with the scale, strength, and resources of a global leader in payments and financial technology.
As General Manager, Clover UK, you will lead one of the UK’s leading payments and commerce businesses serving small and medium-sized enterprises. You will hold full accountability for accelerating growth, expanding market share, strengthening customer relationships, and driving the continued evolution of Clover as the leading commerce platform for UK businesses.
Operating with the backing of a global fintech leader and the pace of a high-growth technology company, you will shape the strategy, define the growth agenda, and lead the execution required to transform the business and deliver exceptional commercial results. Success in this role means driving sustainable growth, strengthening market leadership, and delivering long-term value for customers, employees, and shareholders.
What you will do:
Lead the growth agenda
- Define and execute the strategic vision for Clover UK, accelerating growth, market share, and business performance
- Build and deliver ambitious plans that strengthen Clover’s position as a market leader in the UK SMB payments and commerce market
- Identify and capitalise on emerging market opportunities, competitive advantages, and new growth vectors
- Drive business transformation initiatives that improve scalability, performance, and competitive differentiation
- Contribute as a key member of the EMEA leadership team, influencing regional strategy and growth priorities
Own commercial performance
- Hold full accountability for the Clover UK P&L and overall business performance
- Deliver ambitious revenue, profitability, and growth objectives through disciplined execution and strong commercial leadership
- Drive customer acquisition, retention, product adoption, and increased customer lifetime value
- Allocate investment effectively to maximise growth opportunities and long-term business value
- Build a culture of commercial excellence, accountability, and delivery

Accelerate sales and market expansion
- Lead all revenue-generating functions across direct sales, partnerships, strategic channels, ISVs, and ISOs
- Expand Clover’s distribution footprint and increase penetration across target customer segments and vertical markets
- Develop high-impact go-to-market strategies that drive customer growth and increase adoption of Clover products and services
- Strengthen strategic partnerships and develop new routes to market that accelerate scale
Drive product adoption and innovation
- Partner with Product, Technology, and Marketing teams to influence innovation and accelerate adoption of new solutions
- Ensure product roadmaps align closely with customer needs and commercial priorities
- Champion initiatives that enhance Clover’s competitive differentiation and market relevance
- Evaluate strategic growth opportunities, partnerships, and expansion initiatives
Build high-performing teams
- Recruit, develop, and inspire exceptional leaders and teams
- Create a culture of ownership, performance, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Develop organisational capability and leadership depth to support future growth
- Lead change and transformation initiatives that improve business performance and employee engagement
Represent Clover externally
- Act as the leading ambassador for Clover UK across customers, partners, and industry stakeholders
- Build strategic relationships that drive growth and strengthen Clover’s market position
- Represent the business at executive, customer, and industry forums
- Elevate Clover’s profile as the leading commerce and payments platform for UK SMBs
What you will need to have:
- Proven senior leadership experience in payments, fintech, commerce, SaaS, or a related technology-driven industry
- Strong track record of owning and delivering commercial growth, market expansion, and business transformation
- Experience leading revenue-generating teams across direct and indirect channels
- Strong commercial acumen with experience owning P&L and driving revenue and profitability performance
- Experience building and scaling high-performing teams and organisations
- Ability to define and execute growth strategies in a competitive and fast-moving market
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior internal and external audiences
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Marketing, Sales, and Operations
- Strong customer and market orientation with the ability to shape strategy based on market opportunity and customer need
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the credibility to represent the business externally

- Experience in SMB payments, merchant acquiring, or commerce platforms
- Knowledge of UK payments and commerce market dynamics
- Experience working with ISVs, ISOs, strategic partners, and channel-led growth models

- Familiarity with POS, software, value-added services, and merchant technology ecosystems
