Company Description

We're looking for an ambitious and people-focused General Manager Designate to support our portfolio of thriving community and craft pubs across the Midlands.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pub manager who is ready to take the next step in their career. As a GMD, you will be based at The Cox's Yard but will work across a number of locations, supporting existing teams and covering management vacancies whilst developing towards a permanent General Manager position within our managed pub estate.

At the heart of everything we do is creating welcoming pubs where great food, quality drinks and genuine hospitality bring local communities together.

Position

Your Role As GMD

  • Taking responsibility for the smooth operation of our sites across the Midlands as required.
  • Leading, motivating and developing teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Driving sales, profitability and operational excellence.
  • Managing labour, stock, compliance and cost controls.
  • Supporting recruitment, training and succession planning within your pubs.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of safety, cleanliness and brand execution.
  • Acting as a role model for company values and service standards.
  • Building strong relationships within local communities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
