About The Bull
The Bull in Wanstead is about to get even more exciting. The Bull is a much-loved neighbourhood pub in Wanstead, but we’re not standing still. We’re making significant investment in the site and growing what The Bull can be – with exciting plans across weddings, events, private hire and rooms, alongside the pub itself.
So, we’re looking for an experienced GM with the ambition and energy to match ours. Someone who wants to take a great business, evolve it, lead a brilliant team and shape what comes next.
Why The Bull?
It’s a pretty special site. A listed former bank, right on Wanstead High Street and just 100 yards from the Tube, with a huge garden, private events room and loads of character. It’s already a big part of the local community. Now we’re investing in it and creating more reasons for people to come, celebrate and stay. That means this is much more than simply running a busy pub. We’re looking for someone excited by growth, opportunity and building something.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
