Full time | London (hybrid) | Salary dependent on experience

Podcast Discovery is one of the UK's leading full-service podcast marketing agencies, combining owned, earned and paid media to help podcasts, networks and brands find new audiences.

Founded by Matt Deegan and Matt Hill, the agency was created to solve a simple problem: making great podcasts easier to discover. Since then we've worked with some of the biggest names in podcasting and media, including Crooked Media, The Economist, ITV, Amazon Music, Financial Times, Red Bull, Sky News, Sony Music and Crowd Network.

Alongside our agency, we also operate Podcast Rex, our consumer podcast discovery platform designed to help people find great things to listen to and go deeper into the shows they already love. Rex combines human curation and AI to analyse what's being said inside episodes, identifying the people, topics, stories and conversations they contain. Rex's Great British Podcasts newsletter reaches more than 120,000 podcast fans every week.

Our agency work spans PR, social media, video, paid advertising, audience growth, events and consultancy. We don't make podcasts. We help them succeed.

We're a small, ambitious and highly specialised team who care deeply about delivering outstanding work. We work in a remote-first way, currently meeting in London every two weeks, with plans to spend more regular time together as the business grows.

The Opportunity

Podcast Discovery has reached an exciting stage in its development.

Over the past three years we've built an outstanding reputation, assembled a brilliant team and developed relationships across the podcast industry of which we're incredibly proud.

Now we're ready for the next stage.

We're looking for our first General Manager to become part of the senior leadership team and take ownership of the operational performance of the agency.

Your role will be to ensure the business runs brilliantly every day, helping our team do their best work, our clients receive exceptional service and the agency continues to grow in a sustainable, profitable way.

Alongside continuing to grow the agency, we're investing in new products, technology and services that will help media companies and creators build larger audiences and better businesses. As General Manager, you'll play a central role in creating the operational platform that allows the whole company to grow.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a genuine leadership opportunity with the potential to develop into a Managing Director role as the business continues to evolve.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys growing a business, leading talented people and creating environments where great work happens.

You may already be a General Manager, Operations Director, Agency Director or Head of Operations. Equally, you may be an exceptional senior leader within an agency, production company or media business who's ready to take the next step.

Podcast experience isn't essential.

What matters is that you're commercially minded, highly organised, enjoy solving problems and are passionate about helping teams perform at their best.

You'll be comfortable making decisions, improving systems, spotting issues before they become problems and balancing the needs of clients, colleagues and the wider business.

Most importantly, you'll be excited by the opportunity to help build one of the UK's most innovative businesses working in podcasting.
