We are now expanding our leadership team to include a General Manager, Geopolitical Risk Insights—a newly created executive role designed to drive strategic growth and innovation across our geopolitical risk intelligence business.
About the Team
Our Risk and Enterprise organisation brings together the strength of Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, Factiva, and our strategic acquisitions—including Oxford Analytica and Dragonfly. We help global enterprises identify, assess, and act on risks across AML, anti-corruption, sanctions, and now, geopolitical landscapes. This role is a unique opportunity to unify and grow a critical capability in the global risk ecosystem.
The Opportunity
As General Manager, Geopolitical Risk Insights, you will lead the strategy, commercial execution, and growth of Dow Jones’ geopolitical risk content and advisory business. You will shape our enterprise content vision, drive product innovation, and deliver actionable insights that help C-suite decision-makers navigate complex global environments.
You will work cross-functionally across product, sales, marketing, and operations to scale high-impact solutions that empower organizations worldwide.
Essential Job Description & Summary
The General Manager, Geopolitical Risk Insights serves as the primary executive owner for Dow Jones’ global geopolitical intelligence and advisory portfolio. The role holds end-to-end P&L accountability and is responsible for setting the commercial strategy, driving revenue expansion, and unifying content and analytical capabilities across newly acquired and legacy assets (including Oxford Analytica and Dragonfly).
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Portfolio Direction: Defining and executing the multi-year vision for enterprise geopolitical risk products, content, and bespoke advisory services.
- Commercial Performance & Growth: Owning the P&L, setting growth targets, expanding client acquisition across global enterprise accounts, and driving membership for the Geopolitical Risk Council.
- Product & Content Leadership: Overseeing product roadmaps, content frameworks, and analytical methodologies to ensure intelligence is actionable, timely, and integrated seamlessly into client workflows.
- Thought Leadership & External Representation: Serving as a prominent public voice, media spokesperson, and advisor to C-level client executives, government bodies, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Operational Integration & Scale: Building, leading, and harmonizing cross-functional teams across research, sales, marketing, and product development to maximize scale, operational efficiency, and margin health.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the geopolitical risk strategy aligned with overall Dow Jones business goals.
- Provide strategic counsel to C-level leaders and client boards on global developments and potential risk exposure.
- Serve as a public thought leader, speaker, and internal champion of global risk intelligence.
- Advise senior leadership on political, regulatory, and economic shifts that impact corporate operations and investments.
- Lead product vision and roadmap development for enterprise risk content solutions and advisory services.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key industry stakeholders, clients, and risk consultancies.
Business Growth & Innovation
- Own P&L responsibility and drive commercial performance across all geopolitical risk business units.
- Drive membership and active engagement for the Geopolitical Risk Council, cultivating intentional "One Dow Jones" usage of geopolitical risk data by partnering with Barron's Global Signals, The Trust, and other internal stakeholders.
- Identify high-value market opportunities, create new recurring revenue streams, and forge strategic partnerships.
- Build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams across sales, marketing, product, and operations.
- Drive operational efficiency, standard workflows, and scalable delivery across all business functions.
- Develop, mentor, and empower team members to foster a culture of excellence and high performance.
- Help lead and scale the Global Horizons annual conference to maximize industry engagement, brand positioning, sponsorship and commercial value.
Operational Excellence
- Build, scale, and align cross-functional teams spanning analysis, product, marketing, and sales execution.
- Establish, track, and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, financial health, and operational impact.
- Foster an agile, innovation-driven culture rooted in analytical rigor and integrity.
Stakeholder & Market Engagement
- Engage with government agencies, regulatory bodies, think tanks, and industry trade groups.
- Represent Dow Jones at premier global forums, industry events, and executive conferences focused on geopolitical risk.
- Collaborate closely with internal legal, compliance, and risk teams to ensure alignment with international regulatory frameworks.

What You Bring
Essential Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive executive leadership in geopolitical risk, international security, intelligence, or enterprise risk management.
- Proven track record of scaling B2B businesses, managing P&L performance, and delivering on aggressive revenue growth targets.
- Deep domain expertise in international affairs, global regulatory trends, macroeconomic impacts, and strategic risk forecasting.
- Demonstrated success in digital product innovation, enterprise software/SaaS, or strategic content solutions.
- Exceptional communication and executive presence, with experience advising C-suite executives and boards.
- Strong history of leading matrixed, global teams through organizational growth and business transformation.
Preferred Experience
- Senior background in government, intelligence agencies, or multinational corporate risk strategy.
- Direct familiarity with modern geopolitical risk methodologies, software platforms, and risk modeling tools.
- An established, high-level network across the risk, compliance, academic, or corporate advisory sectors.
