Company Description

WSH RESTAURANTS operates a distinctive collection of restaurants, including The Woodspeen, The Braywood, The Clockspire, and The Boxford. Each location has its own character while sharing a commitment to great hospitality, exceptional food, and warm, skilful service. The Boxford restaurant delivers a high-quality dining experience grounded in locally inspired cuisine and attentive guest care. Team members are encouraged to take pride in service standards, culinary excellence, and creating memorable experiences for every guest.

Role Description

The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at The Boxford in Boxford. This role oversees day-to-day restaurant operations, including managing front-of-house and back-of-house teams, ensuring excellent guest experiences, and maintaining high service and food quality standards.

  • Scheduling and supervising staff
  • Monitoring financial performance
  • Managing budgets
  • Optimizing revenue and cost control
  • Handling recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and licensing requirements
  • Upholding brand standards
  • Engaging with guests and resolving issues promptly
  • Coordinating with suppliers
  • Supporting local marketing and promotional activities to grow the restaurant’s reputation and customer base

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management, ideally as a General Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Strong team leadership and people management skills, including coaching, performance management, and staff development.
  • Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including service standards, reservations, and guest relations.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and revenue management.
  • Knowledge of food safety, health and safety regulations, and licensing compliance in a restaurant environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with guests, colleagues, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
  • Experience in premium or fine-dining establishments is an advantage; formal hospitality or business qualifications are beneficial but not mandatory.
