GENERAL MANAGER – Independent Restaurant SUFFOLK £45,000–£50,000 + TRONC

We are working with a gorgeous independent restaurant with rooms in Suffolk, looking for a brilliant General Manager to take the reins. This is a small but seriously special operation – 2 AA Rosettes, a Michelin Bib Gourmand and a fantastic reputation for food, wine and service.

THE ROLE: This is a proper hands-on GM role. You will be the face of the business, leading a small team, working closely with the Head Chef and making sure the restaurant continues to deliver at a really high level.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Alongside the day-to-day, they want someone commercially switched on who can bring a bit more structure, develop the team and really take ownership of the wider business – including seven bedrooms with loads of untapped potential.

THE CANDIDATE: We need someone from a quality-led restaurant background – fine dining, Michelin, Rosette or brilliant premium independents.

You need to LOVE being on the floor. This is an intimate restaurant where the GM knows the guests, serves tables, talks wine and gets properly stuck in. Wine knowledge is important – ideally WSET Level 2, although they will support further training for the right person.
