The Role
As General Manager, you'll take full ownership of the hotel's performance — commercial, operational and cultural. That means:
- Leading, motivating and developing a high-performing team across all departments, so that exceptional service is the standard, not the exception.
- Driving growth and profitability across multiple revenue streams, from rooms to food & beverage to events.
- Owning the day-to-day operational detail — the kind that guests notice even when they can't quite say why.
- Building a positive, inclusive working environment where people can grow, and want to stay.
- Working closely with brand standards for AC Hotels by Marriott, balancing commercial targets with the design-led, understated guest experience the brand is known for.
You'll bring:
- Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager or Senior Operations Manager within a branded hotel.
- A track record of motivating and developing teams to deliver consistently strong results.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of hotel operations, revenue management and guest satisfaction.
- Genuine commitment to hospitality and to doing the job properly.
Supporting Your Hospitality Career Growth
- Fully funded apprenticeship programmes.
- Internal development programmes, designed to support you as you grow within your role.
- Monthly and annual team member service awards, recognising and celebrating your achievements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
