General Manager – The Mill, Cambridge

Up to £48k – Live-In Available

We’re looking for a passionate and ambitious General Manager to join the team at The Mill in Cambridge, one of the city’s most iconic and best-loved pubs. Nestled on the beautiful banks of the River Cam, overlooking Laundress Green, The Mill is a true destination spot with bags of character. Set in a charming 19th-century building, it offers a unique riverside setting, fantastic outdoor space, plus our famous Snug room, perfect for private parties, celebrations and meetings.

Renowned for its perfectly kept real ales, welcoming atmosphere and multiple CAMRA awards, The Mill attracts a loyal local following alongside visitors from far and wide.

As General Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operation, leading from the front and bringing energy, personality and commercial focus to this busy, historic pub. You’ll be stepping into a business with an established bar team, a kitchen serving fresh, seasonal food and a fantastic setting that offers plenty of opportunities to create memorable experiences for every guest.

From making the most of the incredible riverside garden and driving sales during the busy summer months to creating a cosy, inviting atmosphere when winter rolls around, you’ll know how to bring the pub to life in every season. If you’re a hands-on General Manager who thrives on building great teams and wants to run a business with real character, you will have the freedom to put your own stamp on this Cambridge landmark, build on its strong reputation and ensure The Mill remains a firm favourite with locals and a must-visit destination for those exploring Cambridge.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
