General Manager Waterlooville to 45K OTE 50K

We have a hugely exciting opportunity for a general manager to manage one of the leading leisure centres on the South Coast at Waterlooville. The centre has a membership base in excess of 6000 members, with 1800 participants on the learn to swim and has recently benefited from a major cap ex investment into the gym, the first stage of a £3m investment.

We are keen to hear from an inspirational leader who has the all-round commercial and operational skills to take this £3m+ turnover leisure centre onto the next level by inspiring the team to consistently deliver outstanding customer service and operational excellence across the centre. Ideally you can demonstrate a proven track record in general management within either the private or leisure management sectors of the fitness industry and will have worked with both a family focused membership and a significant swimming pool programme.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
