Brocket Hall General Manager – Operations
Brocket Hall is seeking a hands-on General Manager – Operations to lead the day-to-day delivery of our golf, hospitality and country-estate operations.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Chairman, this role has overall operational responsibility for two championship golf courses, golf operations, food and beverage, kitchens, events delivery, reception, guest accommodation, housekeeping, estate presentation, engineering, property maintenance and health and safety.
The General Manager – Operations will lead the departmental heads, establish clear standards and accountability, and ensure that every part of the estate works as one operation. The role will coordinate tee sheets, course status, golf buggies, guest arrivals, rooms, functions, staffing and facilities so that members, visitors and event clients receive a consistent, high-quality experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the operational department heads and their teams.
- Convert confirmed weddings, golf days, corporate events and accommodation bookings into well-planned operational delivery.
- Own service standards, daily briefings, duty management, staffing efficiency and complaint resolution.
- Ensure effective working relationships between Pro Shop and bookings, outdoor golf operations, course maintenance, food and beverage, kitchens, reception, housekeeping and engineering.
- Manage departmental performance and expenditure within approved budgets.
- Maintain strong controls across health and safety, food safety, licensing, fire safety, contractor management and operational compliance.
- Produce concise weekly reporting covering service, staffing, facilities, complaints, risks and agreed actions.

Requirements
- Proven senior operational leadership experience within a golf resort, country club, luxury hotel, private members’ club or comparable multi-site hospitality operation.
- Strong working knowledge of both golf operations and hospitality, including food and beverage, events, guest accommodation and front-of-house service.
- Demonstrable experience leading several specialist department heads and building accountability across teams.
- Confident managing rotas, labour deployment, departmental budgets, suppliers, service standards and operational KPIs.
- Practical knowledge of health and safety, food safety, licensing and facilities or contractor management.
- Calm, visible and decisive leadership style, with the willingness to work across the estate and resolve issues at source.
- Strong written and spoken English, sound commercial judgement and the ability to communicate clearly with members, guests, employees and senior stakeholders.
- Experience with club, hotel, scheduling or workforce systems is desirable; familiarity with Intelligent Golf, Guestline or Planday would be an advantage.
- Full right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Able to work on site with flexibility for evenings, weekends and major events when operationally required.
