Are you an experienced and driven General Manager wanting to oversee the operations of a prestigious residential development in London? Now’s your chance.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished property professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional service. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the development, ensuring the highest standards of customer service, operational excellence, and compliance are consistently achieved.

Core focus of the role

As General Manager – Residential Property, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the development, leading on operational performance while building positive relationships with residents, stakeholders, contractors, and the wider property management team.

What the day-to-day looks like

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the residential development, ensuring the highest standards are maintained across all areas.
  • Leading, managing, and developing on-site teams, including concierge, cleaning, maintenance, and other operational staff.
  • Delivering an exceptional resident experience by ensuring enquiries and issues are managed promptly and professionally.
  • Managing service charge budgets, monitoring expenditure, and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, statutory requirements, and company policies.
  • Managing contractor performance, procurement, and service delivery to ensure value and quality.
  • Conducting regular inspections of the development to maintain presentation, safety, and operational standards.
  • Preparing operational reports, budgets, and performance updates for senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Building strong working relationships with residents, resident associations, and external partners.
  • Leading on emergency procedures, incident management, and business continuity where required.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational processes and enhance resident satisfaction.

Skills you need

The successful candidate will be an experienced property management professional with excellent leadership, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach to delivering outstanding service.

You Will Ideally Have

  • Previous experience as a General Manager, Estate Manager, Development Manager, or Senior Property Manager within the residential property sector.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A thorough understanding of residential property operations and facilities management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, statutory compliance, and property management best practice.
  • Experience managing budgets, service charges, and contractor performance.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm, professional approach to managing complex situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (such as IRPM, TPI, or IOSH) would be advantageous, although not essential.
