Bristol
£45,000 to £55,000 OTE including bonus
New Opening | November 2026 Start
A new live music and hospitality venue is coming to Bristol. Opening in a prime location just off Corn Street in Bristol's historic centre, we're looking for a General Manager to lead the launch and take ownership of the venue from day one. This is a chance to build a venue from the ground up, recruit your own team and create the atmosphere, culture and guest experience that will establish the venue in Bristol's late night scene.
You'll join in November, complete paid training in London before the opening, then return to Bristol to lead the launch.

The Opportunity
As General Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the performance, people, culture and operation of the venue. Leading a team of around nine, including an Assistant General Manager, bartenders and barbacks, you'll build a high-performing venue that delivers strong customer experiences, commercial results and a team culture people want to be part of. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Head Office, you'll protect the personality of the brand while driving sales, developing your people and delivering high operational standards.

What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the atmosphere and energy of the venue through visible, hands-on leadership
- Building a welcoming, fun and memorable experience for every guest
- Taking full accountability for venue performance, profitability and operational standards
- Driving weekly sales and delivering commercial targets
- Managing labour costs, rotas, stock control and wage efficiency
- Analysing business performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Ensuring licensing, compliance and health and safety standards are maintained
- Leading events, promotions and trading initiatives to maximise revenue
- Coaching and developing your management team
- Building a strong succession pipeline
- Working closely with Operations and Head Office to deliver company objectives
- Setting high standards and leading by example every shift
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a leader who combines commercial awareness with genuine hospitality.
You'll have:
- Experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager or similar leadership role within a high-volume hospitality business
- A track record of leading, developing and motivating successful teams
- Experience managing budgets, labour costs and operational performance
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to analyse business performance
- Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills
- Confidence making decisions in a fast paced environment
- An owner mentality and willingness to take accountability
- A passion for creating memorable customer experiences and developing great people
