Cluster General Manager

Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh and Courtyard by Marriott Aberdeen Airport

Two distinctive hotels. Two important Scottish markets. One exceptional leadership opportunity.

Marriott International is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Cluster General Manager to lead the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh and Courtyard by Marriott Aberdeen Airport.

The Cluster General Manager will provide clear strategic direction across both properties, ensuring that each hotel reaches its full potential while retaining its individual identity, market positioning and guest proposition.

The Opportunity

At the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh, the focus will be on strengthening the hotel’s position within one of Europe’s most dynamic city destinations. The successful candidate will drive commercial performance, elevate the guest experience and lead a complex operation spanning accommodation, food and beverage, spa, meetings and events.

At Courtyard by Marriott Aberdeen Airport, the Cluster General Manager will lead an efficient, focused and commercially responsive operation. Success will require a strong understanding of the corporate, airport and energy sectors, alongside the ability to respond to changing patterns of demand.

Together, the hotels provide an exciting leadership platform for a General Manager who can move confidently between different brands, customer segments and operating environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across both hotels, establishing clear priorities for each property.
  • Deliver sustainable revenue, profitability and market-share growth.
  • Strengthen the positioning and commercial strategy of each hotel within its respective market.
  • Maintain the highest standards of guest experience, operational execution and brand compliance.
  • Build, engage and develop high-performing leadership teams across both locations.
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with ownership and Marriott’s regional and discipline leaders, communicating performance, opportunities and risks with clarity.
  • Develop strong relationships with local businesses, tourism partners and key stakeholders in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
  • Ensure both hotels operate responsibly, safely and in line with Marriott’s values and business expectations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
