JOB SUMMARY
Multi-Property General Manager – Scotland
Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh; Residence Inn Edinburgh; Courtyard Aberdeen Airport; and Residence Inn Aberdeen
Marriott International is seeking an experienced, commercially astute and people-focused Multi-Property General Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of four hotels across Edinburgh and Aberdeen:
- Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh
- Residence Inn by Marriott Edinburgh
- Courtyard by Marriott Aberdeen Airport
- Residence Inn by Marriott Aberdeen
This is a rare opportunity to lead across Marriott’s premium, select-service and extended-stay portfolio, bringing together four distinctive businesses operating within two of Scotland’s most important commercial and leisure destinations.
Based primarily at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh, the Multi-Property General Manager will provide strategic leadership across the portfolio, working closely with the leadership team at each hotel to strengthen commercial performance, elevate the guest experience and create an engaging environment in which associates can thrive.
The opportunity
At the heart of the portfolio is the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh—a landmark five-star hotel overlooking Edinburgh Castle. The successful candidate will lead a complex operation encompassing accommodation, food and beverage, meetings and events, and the hotel’s established spa and wellness offering.
The portfolio also includes Residence Inn Edinburgh, an apartment-style extended-stay hotel in the city’s Quartermile district, serving both business and leisure travellers.
In Aberdeen, the Multi-Property General Manager will oversee Courtyard Aberdeen Airport and Residence Inn Aberdeen—two distinct hotels serving the city’s corporate, energy, airport, leisure and extended-stay markets.
Together, the four properties create a broad and rewarding leadership platform. The role requires a General Manager who can move confidently between different brands, operating models and market dynamics while ensuring that each hotel retains its own identity and reaches its full potential
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all four hotels, with clear and differentiated priorities for each property.
- Lead the day-to-day performance and culture of the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa while maintaining strong oversight of the wider portfolio.
- Deliver sustainable revenue, profitability and market-share growth across both Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
- Strengthen the positioning and commercial strategy of each hotel within its respective market.
- Maintain high standards of guest experience, operational execution and brand compliance.
- Build, engage and develop high-performing leadership teams across the portfolio.
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to share expertise, resources and best practice across the four properties.
- Work closely with ownership and Marriott’s regional and discipline leaders, communicating performance, opportunities and risks with clarity.
- Develop strong relationships with local businesses, tourism partners and other key stakeholders across Scotland.
- Ensure all four hotels operate responsibly, safely and in line with Marriott’s values and business expectations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Broad operational expertise, ideally spanning rooms, food and beverage, meetings and events, and spa or wellness.
