General Manager - Paediatrics and Neonatal Units

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across our Paediatrics and Neonatal Units within UHN. Working in close partnership with Clinical Directors and the Deputy Head of Nursing, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.

The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in leading complex projects within an acute healthcare setting, along with exceptional attention to detail, resilience under pressure, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will be responsible for day-to-day operational delivery, financial performance, and long-term planning to ensure business continuity and service resilience.

This is a six-month secondment opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership across designated service lines, ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of clinical services.
  • Collaborate with clinical leads to develop and implement service strategies with clear goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead robust financial and capacity planning to meet performance targets and support long-term sustainability.
  • Ensure business continuity and maintain resilient service delivery frameworks.
  • Drive service improvements, foster a culture of innovation, and uphold high standards of patient care and staff engagement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
