Job title: General Manager

Location: Herdwick Croft Holiday Park, Lake District

Pay: Dependant on experience

Hours: Full time (40 hours per week)

Shifts: To be agreed

Days: 5 days a week, including weekends

Contract: Permanent

Live In: Not available with this role

Are you an experienced hospitality, leisure or holiday park leader looking for the opportunity to make a real impact?

We are looking for a General Manager to lead Herdwick Croft Holiday Park, a stunning holiday park on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake in the Lake District. Taking responsibility for the overall performance of the park, you will lead operational excellence, commercial success and exceptional guest and owner experiences.

This is a diverse and hands-on leadership role, combining operational management with responsibility for holiday home and lodge sales. With no dedicated sales manager on park, you will take ownership of the sales journey while working closely with central support functions to maximise commercial performance. You'll have the autonomy to drive results, implement improvements and influence the future direction of the business.

As Lovat Parks continues to grow, this role offers the potential to take on wider responsibilities in the future, making it an exciting opportunity for an ambitious General Manager looking to develop their career within a growing organisation.

What will you do?

  • Lead the day-to-day operation and overall performance of Herdwick Croft Holiday Park.
  • Develop, inspire and support a high-performing team.
  • Deliver exceptional guest and holiday homeowner experiences.
  • Lead the holiday home and lodge sales function, managing sales opportunities from enquiry through to completion.
  • Personally manage holiday home and lodge sales enquiries, guiding customers through the sales journey.
  • Drive commercial performance, profitability and achievement of business objectives.
  • Manage budgets and ensure effective control of expenditure.
  • Maintain high standards of park presentation, compliance and health & safety.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, owners, team members and local stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, enhance the guest experience and develop new revenue streams.
  • Work closely with central support teams to deliver park and company objectives.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in a General Manager, Park Manager, Operations Manager or similar senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong operational management skills within hospitality, leisure, tourism, holiday parks or a customer-focused environment.
  • Commercially minded with experience managing budgets and delivering business results.
  • Experience of holiday home, lodge, property or lifestyle sales would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience selling high-value products or services would be beneficial.
  • Confidence building relationships with guests, owners, team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach with a drive to continuously improve standards and performance.
  • The ambition to grow and develop as part of a growing business.
