General Manager at SWG3
Livingston James is delighted to be retained by SWG3 to appoint a General Manager, a key leadership appointment that will help shape the future of one of Scotland's most iconic cultural and entertainment destinations.
SWG3 has established itself as one of the UK's most respected independent venues, hosting an extraordinary range of activity across live music, club events, fashion, visual arts, hospitality, corporate events and creative industries. What began as a collection of former industrial warehouses has evolved into a thriving cultural campus, welcoming audiences from across Scotland and beyond while supporting a vibrant community of artists, designers and creative businesses.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the General Manager will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the venue, ensuring excellence across commercial performance, event delivery, customer experience, compliance and team leadership. This is a highly visible leadership role with broad responsibility across the business, requiring an individual capable of balancing strategic thinking with hands-on operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the events, operations, marketing and commercial teams to maximise venue utilisation, drive revenue growth and ensure the seamless delivery of approximately 700 events each year.
- Foster a positive culture across the organisation.
- Strengthen relationships with promoters, clients, brands and suppliers.
- Ensure SWG3 continues to enhance its reputation as a leading destination for culture, entertainment and community engagement.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an experienced leader with a strong background within live events, venue management, festivals, entertainment, leisure or similarly complex customer-facing environments. Candidates should bring:

- Experience of managing large and diverse teams.
- Proven track record of delivering strong financial performance.
- Expertise in overseeing complex operations.
- Experience of operating within highly regulated environments where health, safety and compliance are critical.
