Are you an experienced General Manager, Operations Manager or Senior Manufacturing Leader who thrives on leading people, improving performance and running a busy operational site?
We are working with a well-established organisation within a specialist, high-volume operational environment that is looking for an experienced General Manager to take overall responsibility for the performance and development of its site.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact across people, production, safety, quality, cost and customer service.
Role Overview
As General Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the management and direction of the operation, working closely with your leadership team to deliver strong commercial and operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Providing overall leadership and direction across the site
- Leading, motivating and developing a large and diverse workforce
- Taking ownership of production, operational performance and continuous improvement
- Monitoring and reporting key operational and financial KPIs
- Managing budgets and controlling expenditure across areas of responsibility
- Driving improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality and service
- Ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and employee wellbeing
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Creating a positive culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement
- Identifying operational problems and implementing practical solutions
- Working collaboratively across production, engineering, logistics and customer service

Profile
We are looking for an experienced operational leader who has already operated at General Manager, Site Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager or equivalent level.
You will ideally have:
- Strong experience within manufacturing, production or another high-volume operational environment
- Proven experience leading large teams
- Strong commercial and financial awareness, including budget responsibility
- Experience managing operational KPIs and performance metrics
- A track record of continuous improvement and driving efficiencies
- Excellent communication and people-management skills
- The confidence to make decisions in a fast-moving and sometimes pressured environment
- A customer-focused and commercially aware approach
- A practical, hands-on leadership style
- NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification would be advantageous

Experience within textiles, laundry, food manufacturing, FMCG or similar high-volume environments would be particularly relevant.
