About Get Golfing
Get Golfing CIO is an ambitious charity dedicated to making golf accessible to everyone. We own and operate 13 golf facilities across England, welcoming over 12,000 members and 160,000 visitors annually, and accommodating 600,000 rounds of golf per year. As a £25m revenue organisation with 600 passionate team members, every penny of profit is reinvested into improving our venues, developing our people, and supporting community-focused charitable initiatives.
We are seeking an exceptional General Manager; someone commercially astute, operationally sharp, and an outstanding people leader, to take Warley Park Golf Club into its next phase of growth.
The Role
Warley Park Golf Club is an established golf destination set across 160 acres at Little Warley, near Brentwood. Its 27-hole operation comprises the 18-hole Warley course and 9-hole Childerditch course, with mature parkland, lakes and views across the Thames Estuary. The venue also offers practice facilities, a pro shop and a versatile clubhouse with a restaurant, terrace and function rooms for weddings, celebrations, meetings and golf events.
As General Manager, you will lead Warley Park’s day-to-day operations and take full ownership of the P&L. Reporting to Get Golfing’s Executive Team, you will develop the golf, course, clubhouse, food and beverage, and events teams to grow participation and revenue, deliver an exceptional experience for members and visitors, and maximise charitable impact.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
