We’re investing £250,000 in the Maltsters Arms Hotel in Llandaff, Cardiff in November 2026 and now looking for a great General Manager to lead the pubs.

Salary up to £45,000 plus bonus and a generous benefits package.

About the pub

Grandstand pubs are high-energy, sports-driven community hubs created for big occasions, live sports and social experiences. With enhanced screens, sound and layouts, they deliver standout atmosphere from matchdays and live entertainment to relaxed, family-friendly dining.

These are fast-paced pubs where sport, food and drink come together to drive strong performance and local loyalty. We’re looking for a commercially focused operator whose comfortable leading busy services, building energy through events and atmosphere, and delivering great guest experiences. Previous food experience is essential, with branded food experience a strong advantage.

With £250,000 being invested into the site, including enhancements to the sports viewing experience and guest offer, you’ll be taking the reins of a business with real momentum and growth potential. Capex Investment is proposed to take place in late 2026.

The Maltsters Arms

Currently, The Maltsters Arms is a well-established pub and boutique hotel positioned in one of Cardiff’s most historic and affluent suburban centres. It combines a traditional inn feel with modern hospitality and sits in a strong trading location with steady local demand and visitor footfall.

The Maltsters Arms is located on Cardiff Road, Llandaff, CF5 2DS, directly within the heart of Llandaff’s village centre. Llandaff is a cathedral city within Cardiff, functioning as an upmarket suburban centre with a mix of long-established residential neighbourhoods, university and school presence (including Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Llandaff campus) and local independent shops, cafés, and services. It has a strong daytime and evening economy driven by residents, students, and visitors.


This is an exciting opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a sports- and events-led General Manager to support the transition of this business to take it to the next level. The pub is currently turning over £30,000 per week (42% wet, 41% dry, 17% accommodation).
