Astute’s Renewables Team is partnering with a growing renewable energy business specialising in the operation and maintenance of renewable energy assets to recruit a General Operative to support their regional team in the Midlands and North Yorkshire.
The General Operative role comes with a competitive salary of up to £35,000, company vehicle, training and development opportunities, and the chance to build a long-term career within the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities and duties of the General Operative role
Reporting To The O&M Manager You Will
- Carry out general ground maintenance across renewable energy sites
- Mow, strim and maintain vegetation around operational sites
- Assist technicians with maintenance, manual handling and general site activities
- Carry out basic site checks and report any issues
- Use and maintain grounds maintenance equipment safely
- Travel regionally and provide occasional support at other sites when required
- Complete relevant training and ensure all work is carried out in line with company HSE standards

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, agriculture, construction or similar
- Experience using mowers, strimmer’s or similar equipment would be advantageous
- Relevant machinery/equipment licences would be beneficial but not essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and travel regionally
