We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Void Clearance Operative to join our team, helping to prepare vacant properties for refurbishment and new residents. Working across a range of residential properties, you will be responsible for clearing unwanted items, removing waste, and ensuring properties are empty, safe, and ready for the next stage of works.
This is a varied, physically active role that involves travelling between properties, working independently and as part of a team, and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and customer service at all times.
Duties
- Clear vacant houses, flats, and maisonettes of furniture, household items, rubbish, and other unwanted materials.

- Report any property damage, maintenance issues, or health and safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Capture before and after photographs where required.

- Assist with basic property preparation tasks as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
