Annual salary: up to £30,409.71

General Operative

Location: North Lanarkshire

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Starting salary of £30,409.71 per annum. 40 hours per week. Commercial van and fuel card provided. Overtime available including weekend work and early starts.

About the Role

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable General Operative to join our team in North Lanarkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with site experience and a strong work ethic to work within a busy environment supporting a variety of construction and maintenance activities.

The successful candidate will assist with a range of duties including scaffolding, material handling, roofing, painting and plastering works. Working both independently and as part of a wider team, you will play an important role in delivering high quality services across our operations.

As a General Operative, you will support a variety of construction and maintenance activities across the North Lanarkshire area. This role requires a practical, hands-on approach, flexibility and a commitment to health and safety. You will be required to work at height and carry out labouring duties while supporting skilled tradespeople on site.

  • Building scaffolding
  • Delivering and collecting materials to site
  • Installing Heras fencing
  • Assisting with roofing works
  • Assisting with painting works
  • Assisting with plastering works
  • Supporting multi-trade activities
  • Working at height safely and effectively
  • Maintaining site safety and housekeeping standards
  • Working independently and as part of a team

Key Criteria

  • Full UK manual driving licence essential
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Site experience
  • Experience working alongside trades
  • General labouring experience
  • Working at height experience
  • Knowledge of wet trades including bricklaying, plastering, rendering, screeding, concrete work or tiling

Preferred but not essential:

  • Experience working within a multi-skilled trade environment
