Job Summary
The General Practice Institute is a key service at Cleveland Clinic London. This is a consultant position with responsibility for the diagnosis, management, onward referral and definitive treatment of general practice. Emergency Medicine experience is desirable. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in a substantive consultant post.

Job Responsibilities:
- Monitors and provides care to patients at Cleveland Clinic London within the Department of General Practice.
- Provides daytime coverage (0800-1800) for Concierge Medicine service as part of larger CM GP team, require minimum one 8-hour day sessions.
- Provides backup coverage when other members of CM GP team are on holiday, study, or sick leave to see CM patients (scheduled, walk-in, or virtual) as required
- To include cover of out-of-hours Monday to Friday (1600 to 0800) and weekend-out-of-hours (as part of rota) Saturday to Sunday (1 in 5)
- Shifts will be swapped within the team for mutual convenience and parity within group
- Participates in the delivery of Executive Health assessments to CM members.
- Participates in home visits as part of CM programme for members, on occasion may be required.
- Actively participate and support in the development of clinical triaging and scheduling mechanism
- Actively participates as member of CM and GP team in the development of care coordination and continuity workflows to enable prioritised specialty consults for patients
- Provides a high quality of service to patients requiring diagnosis and management.
- Analyzes records, reports and test results in order to diagnose and manage a patient’s medical condition
- Explains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patients
- Provides specialist referrals to treat the patient’s medical condition
- Evaluates the patient and records applicable notes (utilizing the CCL Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)) to ensure a comprehensive record of consultation and management plans
- Out-of-hours responsibilities, including participation in GP cover/on-call rota where applicable.
- Liaises both internally and internationally with other medical and non-medical staff within Cleveland Clinic to ensure patients are treated with the highest quality care, with fulfillment of current best practice guidelines.
- Actively participates in Clinical Governance and Audit within the immediate Institute and across Cleveland Clinic.
- Engages proactively in teaching and training Medical, Nursing and other relevant caregivers.
- Contributes and regularly engages with a wider multidisciplinary team to provide high quality care for patients.

Qualifications and Training
- M.B.B.S or equivalent
- On GMC GP Register
- MRCGP
- Current UK visa or permission to work
- Training in appraisal techniques
- Postgraduate Thesis
Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in a substantive consultant post
- Evidence of training in relevant medical techniques
- Expertise across a wide range of treatment and conditions.
Skills, knowledge and competencies
- Ability to organise and prioritise complex demands
- Effective communication skills: demonstrates awareness of good decision making.
- Track record of engaging in clinical governance: reporting errors, learning from errors
- IT skills using electronic patient care systems
- Evidence of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- ALS training
- Experience in clinical or academic research
