About the role
We’re looking for prison-cleared GPs to provide ad hoc locum cover across HMP sites in the East Midlands and Lincolnshire. Shifts will mainly cover sickness and annual leave, so you can choose the work that fits your diary.

Contracts in the Nottingham area HMP starting 19 November 2026: Contracts in the Lincoln area HMP starting 21 January 2027:

What you’ll do
- Provide primary care GP services to patients in prison
- Run clinics and assess, diagnose and treat a varied caseload
- Work with the multidisciplinary healthcare team on site
- Keep accurate clinical records in line with prison healthcare protocols
Essential requirements
- Full GMC registration and completed training to practise as an independent GP
- Current prison vetting/clearance

- Previous experience as a GP in a prison or secure setting
