PHL Group is seeking experienced General Practitioners (GPs) to join our dedicated Out-of-Hours (OOH) service across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality urgent primary care when patients need it most. Whether providing telephone triage, consulting with patients at one of our seven primary care centres, or undertaking home visits, you’ll help ensure patients receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place.

This role offers excellent flexibility, competitive rates, and the opportunity to work within a supportive, patient-focused organisation committed to delivering outstanding care.

About The Role

As an Out-of-Hours GP, you will assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of urgent primary care presentations while working collaboratively with Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurses, Paramedics and our wider clinical and operational teams.

You will be responsible for delivering safe, effective and compassionate care, supporting clinical decision-making, maintaining high clinical standards and contributing to the ongoing development of our service.

Service Hours

Our Out-of-Hours Service Operates

  • Monday to Friday: 6:30pm – 8:00am
  • Weekends and Bank Holidays: 24-hour service (8:00am – 8:00am)

We offer flexible shift patterns to support a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As part of our clinical team, you will:

  • Deliver telephone consultations, face-to-face appointments and home visits.
  • Assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting with urgent primary care needs.
  • Provide emergency care where appropriate while arranging onward transfer.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
  • Support clinical governance, quality improvement and audit activities.
  • Contribute to education, mentoring and the development of colleagues where appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
