Out-of-Hours (OOH) GP
Location: Midlands
Hours: Evenings, Weekends, Bank Holidays (Flexible/Shift-based)
Reporting To: Clinical Lead / OOH Medical Director
Remuneration: Competitive Hourly
Core Purpose
Deliver high-quality, safe urgent primary care to patients outside standard surgery hours via remote triage, clinic appointments, and home visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Assessment: Provide rapid telephone/video triage, face-to-face consultations at urgent care hubs, and home visits for non-ambulatory patients.
- Acute Care & Prescribing: Diagnose and treat acute, unscheduled primary care presentations; prescribe safely in line with local formularies.
- Handover & Systems: Maintain clear records (e.g., Adastra, SystmOne, EMIS) and execute safe handovers to daytime GP practices or secondary care.
- Quality & Safety: Follow NHS safeguarding, clinical governance, and infection control standards.

Essential Criteria
- Qualifications: MBChB/MBBS, GMC Registration (with License to Practice), and inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
- Experience: Post-qualification experience in primary, urgent, or emergency care; strong remote assessment and risk management skills.
- Compliance: Enhanced DBS, valid medical indemnity for OOH work, and a full UK driving licence.
