General Radiographer

Springfield Hospital, Chelmsford

Full time - 37.5 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Radiographer to join our busy and supportive X-ray team at Springfield Hospital.

Our service operates seven days a week, with shifts typically scheduled between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly across a range of days and shift patterns to support service delivery and meet the needs of our patients. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to providing an efficient, responsive, and patient-centred imaging service.

The role

In this role, you will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise. You will play a key role within a fast-paced environment where the team will rely on knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with consultants, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring excellent communication and a high standard of patient care.
  • Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services in accordance with departmental protocols, professional standards, and best practice guidelines.
  • Ensure the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of patients, visitors, and staff at all times, adhering to radiation protection and health and safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a dynamic and innovative imaging team, contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in supporting different imaging modalities and service areas to meet operational and patient care needs.
  • Undertake a range of administrative duties, including Image Exchange Portal (IEP) administration, stock ordering, patient appointment scheduling, and responding to telephone enquiries.
  • Participate in quality assurance programmes, equipment quality control testing, and clinical audits in line with Ramsay policies and departmental requirements.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with data protection, governance, and confidentiality standards.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives and actively participate in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance clinical competencies.
  • Support the delivery of an efficient, patient-focused service, ensuring a positive patient experience throughout their imaging pathway.

What You Will Bring With You

  • Diploma or degree in diagnostic Radiography
  • HCPC registered
  • Min 1-year post qualification would be an advantage but newly qualified candidates would be also considered
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Passion to deliver high quality diagnostic services
