Role Description
The General Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Aberystwyth, responsible for leading the sales team to achieve volume, profitability, and customer satisfaction targets. This role oversees daily showroom operations, sets and monitors sales objectives, and ensures that brand standards and Sinclair Group processes are consistently followed. The General Sales Manager will coach, mentor, and develop sales colleagues, conduct performance reviews, and support training to maintain high levels of product knowledge and customer service. The role includes analyzing sales data, forecasting performance, managing stock and pricing, and collaborating with other departments such as Marketing, Finance, and Service to deliver a seamless customer experience. The General Sales Manager will also handle escalated customer issues, ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Demonstrated experience in automotive sales management, including leading a sales team and delivering against sales and profitability targets.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop diverse team members.
- Solid customer service and relationship-building capabilities, focused on delivering an excellent and consistent retail experience.
- Commercial and financial awareness, including experience with forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing sales and performance data.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, both face-to-face and in writing.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize workload, maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Proficiency with dealership management systems, CRM tools, and standard office software; comfortable working with digital sales processes.
- Knowledge of the automotive sector and interest in premium brands; prior experience with franchised dealerships is highly beneficial.
- Commitment to ethical sales practices, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to Sinclair Group policies and brand standards.
- Valid UK driving licence and flexibility to work dealership retail hours, including weekends and peak trading periods.
