Could you lead the Co-operative Party through its next phase of growth and development? Do you have the vision, energy and resilience to drive co-operative political action to new levels? Can you lead and inspire our staff, members and political representatives to make change happen?
The Co-operative Party is growing in size and influence, with its largest ever number of MPs and the first Labour and Co-operative PM. It is also a registered co-operative and a proud champion of the movement.
The General Secretary is the Chief Executive Officer of the Party and is responsible to the National Executive Committee, elected by the members, for the executive leadership of the organisation and delivery of the Party’s strategic objectives.

Joe Fortune, the current General Secretary, is leaving having increased the Party’s influence, impact and membership. The Party has big plans for the future and our values and principles have never been more relevant or needed. We are now looking for a new General Secretary to build on this success and take the Party forward working with our outstanding staff team.
Location: London with extensive travel across the UK
Salary: £90-100k with generous annual leave, contributory pension and life assurance.
Closing date: 5pm, Tuesday 20 October.
Interviews: Interviews will be held online on 29 October and in-person in London on 30 October. Shortlisted candidates must be available for both days. The successful candidate would also need to be able to attend the NEC Strategy Day on 14 November in Birmingham.
