General Service Assistant – Infantry Training Centre, Aramark UK

Location: Infantry Training Centre, Vimy Barracks, Catterick Garrison, DL9 3PS

Pay rate: £12.71/hour Contract type: Permanent, full-time (35 hours/week, 5 days out of 7 including weekends) Shift times:

  • Earlies: 05:45 – 13:15
  • Lates: 12:00 – 19:00

What You’ll Do

As a General Service Assistant, you’ll deliver a welcoming experience to our customers. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Serving food and beverages to customers
  • Cleaning back-of-house areas, crockery, and cutlery
  • Maintaining counter, equipment/machines, preparation, and public areas
  • Handling basic cold food preparation and made-to-order services
  • Restocking goods and ensuring appropriate merchandise displays
  • Reporting to your line manager any:
    • Customer feedback/complaints
    • Suggestions
    • Stock needs
    • Breakages
    • Faults
    • Hazards
  • Managing daily paperwork and records
  • Following food hygiene and safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

We seek a friendly, customer-focused individual with:

  • A willingness to learn (no prior food service/hospitality experience required—full training provided)
  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Eligibility to work in the UK + must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years (security clearance required)
  • Basic numeracy skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
