Role Overview

Kodak is looking for a Mechanic to join our team in Kodak’s Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY.

Our unique and massive coating machines create the PET film base as well as coat light-sensitive materials onto the film base. This mechanic position would be responsible for ensuring that the filter cleaning room and polymer production facility run smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all functions performed in the cleaning of resin filters, critical extrusion equipment, and chemical/delivery equipment
  • Operate chemical baths and pressure vessels used in the cleaning process
  • Manage inventory of chemicals, equipment, and other supplies used in the Filter Cleaning Room
  • Perform equipment lubrication tasks such as oil sampling, visual inspections, and inspect equipment condition
  • Responsible for the disassembly, cleaning, and assembly of chains, bearings, and clips used on the film base machine
  • Work with other maintenance personnel in a team environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to continually improve skill and knowledge necessary to perform the duties essential to the present job
  • Maintain and follow authorized operational procedures, suggest improvements and updates as necessary
  • Generate and maintain records of services per written and authorized procedures
  • Provide emergency service of equipment as is required to maintain equipment

Required skills and experience

  • Must be a detail-orientated team player.
  • Must have the ability to be flexible between multiple positions, sometimes multi-tasking or moving within a shift.
  • Must work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet business needs.
  • Ability to express oneself communicate clearly, both written and verbal, and comprehend a variety of work requests
  • Willing to work overtime or adjust work schedule for business needs.
  • Must be willing and able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to obtain Power Industrial Truck (fork truck) license at Kodak.
  • Positions require walking, standing, and frequent lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, and occasional awkward positions.
  • Must maintain a clean work area.
  • Must maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Computer proficiency including navigating screens and data entry.
  • Responsibility for specific manufacturing processes, inputs, outputs, and troubleshooting.
  • Be involved in product quality and process improvement activities.
  • Interact with engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel.

Work Schedule

This is a day shift position working 6AM to 2:30PM M-F.
