General Store Manager | Weymouth

Our Client is one of the largest and most progressive food retailers in the UK with an annual turnover in excess of £9 billion.

Due to continued growth and internal promotions, we are now recruiting for a General Store Manager to join their team in the Weymouth area.

As a General Store Manager, you will be accountable for the day-to-day operational performance of your store and everyone within it.

You, along with your leadership team, will be responsible for the profitable delivery of a multi-million pound business. As a General Store Manager, you will be commercially focused with the proven ability to know what adds value to your business and customers.

Your role will involve the development of your Deputy Manager and shop floor team while ensuring that the business grows organically through effective delegation, training, and development.

As a General Store Manager, you will drive excellent customer service and experience, engaging with them to understand their requirements, obtaining feedback to improve your operation, and promoting your business and brand at all times. You will take on feedback and pass it on, learning from mistakes and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

About you:

  • Currently work within a senior managerial role, ideally as a Store Manager, General Manager, Area Manager, or large format Deputy Manager within a fast-paced, volume-driven business, ideally within the food retail sector.
  • Have a proven track record of profitable sales growth and delivery of company objectives while delivering customer excellence at all times.
  • Be hands-on in your operational style but with the ability to look at your business strategically and focus on short, medium, and long-term plans.
