General Teaching Assistant – Primary

Location: Sutton, South London
Salary: £90–£100 per day
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Start date: 21 September 2026

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Sutton is seeking an experienced General Teaching Assistant to become a valued part of its team. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to make a visible difference across the school day.

Working within EYFS, KS1, or KS2, you will help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop positive classroom habits. The school values calm, consistent support, and offers a collaborative environment in which teaching assistants are encouraged to contribute ideas.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with lessons, resources, and classroom routines
  • Working with individuals and small groups in literacy and numeracy
  • Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs when required
  • Promoting positive behaviour, independence, and inclusion
  • Supervising pupils during transitions and activities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
