General Teaching Assistant Required in NW10
Paid Trial days Commencing October 12th
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with children across different age groups and helping them stay engaged, confident and focused in school?
A welcoming Brent primary school is seeking a confident and proactive General Teaching Assistant to provide classroom and behaviour support across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
This is a varied role working alongside class teachers to support pupils academically, socially and behaviourally throughout the school day.
Your Role As a General Teaching Assistant
- Provide general classroom support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
- Work with pupils individually, in small groups and within the wider classroom.
- Support teachers with classroom management and help maintain a calm, positive learning environment.
- Provide additional support to pupils who may struggle with behaviour, concentration or engagement.
- Use positive behaviour strategies to help pupils manage emotions, follow routines and make appropriate choices.
- Build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
- Support children with literacy, numeracy, phonics and other curriculum activities.
- Deliver small group interventions and targeted learning activities under the direction of the class teacher.
- Encourage pupils to become more independent and confident in their learning.
- Support children during transitions, breaktimes and other parts of the school day where required.
- Help prepare classroom resources and ensure learning activities are ready for pupils.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to monitor pupil progress, behaviour and engagement.

Who You Are
- Confident, patient, resilient and proactive.
- Experienced working with primary-aged children, ideally across more than one Key Stage.
- Comfortable supporting pupils who may display challenging or disruptive behaviour.
- Able to remain calm and consistent when dealing with difficult situations.
- Confident setting boundaries while building positive relationships with children.
- Able to support literacy, numeracy and general classroom learning.
- Flexible and comfortable moving between EYFS, KS1 and KS2 where required.
- A strong team player who can follow guidance from teachers and senior staff.
- Reliable, enthusiastic and willing to get involved in all aspects of school life.
- Passionate about helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.
