AI / GenAI Engineer | Contract | £750 P/D | Remote UK
My client, within Financial Services, are looking for an experienced AI / GenAI Engineer to join an exciting 6-month contract, helping design and deliver Generative AI and agentic solutions within a trading environment.
📍 Location: Remote (UK) – occasional travel to London, approximately 1–2 times per quarter
💰 Rate: £750 per day
📅 Contract: 6 months initially
🚀 Start: October 2026
About the Role
You’ll work closely with Data Engineers, trading teams and client stakeholders to build practical GenAI solutions that automate and enhance trading workflows.
The role will focus heavily on LLMs, AI agents, RAG, Databricks and Azure, taking solutions from design through to production.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy Generative AI / LLM-based solutions to automate trading workflows
- Build AI agents and agentic workflows capable of orchestrating complex, multi-step processes
- Leverage Databricks AI capabilities, including Mosaic AI, MLflow and Model Serving
- Develop RAG pipelines integrating LLMs with data prepared by Data Engineering teams
- Apply prompt engineering, evaluation and optimisation techniques to improve LLM performance and reliability
- Work collaboratively with client stakeholders and delivery teams to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions
- Contribute to the design and implementation of production-ready AI architectures
What We’re Looking For
- Proven hands-on experience delivering Generative AI / LLM applications into production
- Strong experience designing and implementing AI agents or agentic workflows
- Solid experience with Databricks AI, particularly Mosaic AI, MLflow and Model Serving
- Strong Python development skills
- Experience with GenAI/LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar
- Comfortable working independently in a remote-first and client-facing environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business challenges into practical AI solutions

Desirable Experience
- Background in Energy Trading, Capital Markets or Financial Services
- Experience with Responsible AI, model governance or regulated environments
- Databricks and/or Azure AI certifications
