Job Description

This role within the Cancer Genetics Service provides administrative, logistical and pathway coordination support to facilitate the safe, timely and efficient delivery of genomic and cancer genetics services. Working under the supervision of Genetic Counsellors, Clinical Geneticists and other appropriately qualified clinicians, the post holder will support patients and families throughout the genomic pathway, from referral through to testing, screening, surveillance and follow-up activities. This includes obtaining clinical information, family history and relevant records; coordinating samples and testing; supporting patient communication; maintaining accurate databases and pathway trackers; facilitating multidisciplinary team working; and assisting with service audits and quality improvement activities.

The role supports the work of registered clinical professionals, and the post holder will work within agreed protocols and clearly defined boundaries, recognising when issues require escalation to a Genetic Counsellor, Clinical Geneticist or other senior clinician.

Clinical Pathway Coordination

  • Act as a key contact for patients, laboratories and healthcare professionals within cancer genetics pathways.
  • Obtain and validate family history, pathology reports, genetic test results and medical records.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
