Geo-Environmental Engineer
Waterman Infrastructure & Environment are recruiting for a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join the team based in Manchester, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.
The Ground Engineering team provides geoenvironmental consultancy and geotechnical design services to a range of external clients including developers, house-builders, local authorities, and contractors. Responsibilities:
- Supporting a variety of geo-environmental projects for both external clients and for other teams within Waterman;
- Supervising ground investigations;
- Preparing Preliminary Risk Assessments (Desk studies);
- Soil logging to current UK standards, including laboratory scheduling;
- Completing soil sampling, water monitoring, and sampling;
- Writing interpretative ground investigation reports;
- Input to the design of remediation works and geotechnical design;
- Knowledge of contaminated land legislation and reporting requirements;
- Reviewing and interpreting factual site investigation data; and,
- Travel to other offices and sites within the UK (as needed).

Qualification and Experience:

- BSc or equivalent in Geology, Environmental Science, or similar;
- Working towards membership of a relevant professional body with a longer-term goal to move toward chartership with a relevant institution;
- Basic knowledge of planning legislation;
- Experience of site inspections and reporting;
- Able to complete interpretative assessments to a basic level;
- Able to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy;
- Track record in managing time and resources effectively and within budget; and,
- In possession of a full UK driving license.
