Job Title: Geoenvironmental Engineer
Location: Leeds
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Salary: Up to £50,000

If you have at least two years’ experience in ground investigation and are ready to take on more responsibility, this role offers the chance to work across both site investigation and the wider design process.
You’ll join an employee-owned engineering consultancy where the geoenvironmental team works closely with civil, infrastructure and structural engineers. The work covers projects across the UK, with opportunities to manage site activity, develop your technical reporting and work towards chartership.
About the Opportunity
You’ll help deliver ground investigation projects from initial desk study through to fieldwork and reporting. You’ll also supervise remedial works and earthworks, and provide ground-related technical input to other engineering teams.

The role is based in Leeds and involves travel to sites across the UK, including periods working away from home.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare desk studies and factual and interpretative ground investigation reports.
- Log and sample soil and rock.
- Carry out ground gas and groundwater monitoring and sampling.
- Manage and supervise site investigations, remedial works and earthworks.
- Coordinate subcontractors and communicate progress and findings to colleagues and clients.
- Support infrastructure and structural engineers with geoenvironmental advice.
Essentials – What We’re Looking For
- A degree in geology, environmental science, civil engineering or a related subject.
- At least two years’ relevant experience with an engineering consultancy or ground investigation contractor.
- Practical experience of site investigation and technical report writing.
- The confidence to manage site work and deal with subcontractors.
- Good organisation and clear written and verbal communication.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to work away when required.

A relevant master’s degree or progress towards chartership with a professional body would be an advantage.
